Below is a directory of food pantries, home-delivered meals, senior dining & conglomerate meals, grocery store discounts for seniors, and other community resources directed at food security in Ashland and Bayfield Counties.

Food Pantries


The following food shelves serve areas within Ashland and Bayfield Counties. They may require information verifying identity, residency, income etc. It is best to check with the food shelf/pantry for specific requirements.

​CORE serves people over 55 in the communities of Northern Bayfield County, including Washburn, Bayfield, Red Cliff, and the South Shore.
CORE currently has volunteers who can run errands, including grocery pick-up and drop-off. Volunteers can also provide social support over the phone and can deliver a monthly care package to your home.
The BRICK Ministries
The B.R.I.C.K. is a result of the former Chequamegon Bay Food Pantry and NWCSA’s Food Shelf joining together under the umbrella of a covenant of various area churches. Serving Ashland and Bayfield Counties.

Bayfield County Aging and Disability Services
Meals are delivered four days a week to people age 60 or older, unable to obtain food and prepare meals for themselves.

Community Resources


CORE Community Resources
In addition to other services, provides volunteers for assistance in meal preparation and transportation to grocery stores, food pantries or nutrition appointments. CORE also provides monthly group meals and presentations, advocacy, and resources. Serves seniors 60 or older in the zip codes of Bayfield (54814), Cornucopia (54827), Washburn (54891), and LaPointe (54850).

Memorial Medical Center Nutritional Services
In addition to providing high quality and nutritional meals, the Nutritional Services Department offers counseling. Registered Dietitians also provide one-to-one counseling for both hospital patients and outpatient clients who require medical nutritional therapy for disease such as diabetes, heart disease and kidney disease.
